WelcomeWelcome to the 49th GameMaker Contest! The theme of this contest is: use a maximum of five colors... We chose this theme to give you as much creative freedom as possible. It doesn’t matter what kind of game you make, but you may not use more than five colors. (For the older members: we once had a contest like this before — back then, you were only allowed to use three colors.)
To participate in this contest, you need to make a game using a maximum of five colors. You may decide yourself how to incorporate this theme into your game. You could make a tower defense, a puzzle game, a shooter, and much more! Be creative and do your best. Of course, you can always ask for help on the forum.
Other Rules• You may not have started your game before the start of the competition.
• You are allowed to use existing resources.
• Teamwork is allowed.
• Only submit one game - better one good game than two mediocre ones!
• Games must be made with GameMaker (the version doesn't matter).
Games must be submitted as an executable file for Microsoft Windows or as an HTML5 file. HTML5 is now allowed, but we must be able to tell that you made the game! Submit your game by sending a private message to the contest organizer (29632963).
Timing• August 11, 2017: Start of the contest. Good luck!
• September 22, 2017: First interim evaluation. Submit your game by this date to receive interim feedback.
• November 4, 2017: Contest deadline: submit your entry no later than this day.
The interim evaluations are sent personally. Depending on the jury member who reviews your game, this might take a few days. More information will be announced during the first few weeks.

ResultsThe results are based on three different jury reports. These jury reports are sent personally to all participants. The final score is calculated by summing the three scores and dividing by three, resulting in an average score:
• Rowan: 9 + 8 + 8.5 = 25.5 / 3 = 8.5
• Lia and Cassie: 7.5 + 8 + 8 = 7.8
• Blue Cat: 7 + 7 + 8 = 22 / 3 = 7.3
• Philia: 6.5 + 7.5 + 7 = 21 / 3 = 7
